Pachter: Indie Games Not “Game of the Year” Experiences

The always intriguing Wedbush Analyst, Michael Pachter, has made his strong feelings on indie games known, claiming that the smaller titles are not Game of The Year experiences.

Speaking on the latest episode of the Bonus Round, Pacther said, “I don’t consider all those things—games as in game-worthy game of the year. They’re more like snacks." He then went on to clarify, "But they’re great snacks and we don’t only eat three meals a day. We have snacks and we have dessert."

Do you agree with Pachter's assessment of indie games?  I can't help but disagree, when you look at games like Journey, Braid, and Gone Home, you can't just call these titles mere "snacks."

I'd say in many cases some indie games are worlds better than the mountain of shit they force down our throats as "game of the year" material.
