  1. My faviorate video game memory is playing Arkham Asylum for the first time. I was not expecting much but when I played it I was blown away. It really showed me what makes a game great! @rogformer

I would have to go with the game I played the most hours in the last 10years. BFBC2 Piloting thoses choppers and making my gunner's jawbone drop everytime we ended the map with the same chopper and both at top scoreboard ! ;) A blast! @HellR1k

  3. Nice, I really like Firefall, I'd love to get one of those posters!

Hm, favorite Video Game memory is pretty hard, but I think it's when I was at a friends house for a few days playing WoW during the expansion 'Wrath of the Lich King'. We were both at Level 80, which was the highest level during that time, and raiding Icecrown Citadel, the final raid of the expansion together with 8 other people on TeamSpeak.
The raiding itself wasn't the awesome thing, it was sitting next to each other in that pretty hot summer, raiding together, sometimes messing with the people on TeamSpeak, trying to setup an ancient fan to cool ourselves and celebrating after finally killing a hard boss. It was just this fun gaming atmosphere that was so great.

  4. My favorite video game memory is from when I was about 8 or 9 years old. It is actually about the one and only day my dad ever played a video game with me. I remember we had recently gotten the SNES, and I asked him to play Super Mario World. He tried it for a few minutes, and although he enjoyed it, he obviously wasn't any good at it so he smiled and gave the controller back to me and told me to play. It's not that my dad was opposed to video games--in fact he used to bring demos of PC games for me all the time (remember the good ol' days of shareware?)--however, that was the only time he actually sat and played too. Sadly, he passed away a few years later, but I still remember that day vividly, and cherish the memory so much! :') I'm sure he would've been amazed at how far gaming and technology have progressed since then. :) @tarzan2001

  5. My favorite video game memory was opening up the box of a Playstation 1 for the very first time. The excitement was so overwhelming being able to own my very own gaming console for the first time that it is kind of a blur in my mind now. What I do remember is putting in my very first console game, Spyro The Dragon, for the first time and listening to the hum of the Sony Playstation logo on the screen. I will never forget that sound, it gives me chills even till today. Even though I am over 20 years old now, I still go back and play those types of games because I feel like they had the best designs for simple gameplay mechanics that game developers are losing sight of today with all of the evolving technology around us. However I still will never understand why it took Insomniac until the second game to implement freaking hover....nonetheless I still think playing Spyro in my childhood is easily my most favorite video game memory and has even inspired me to develop video games myself as an independent developer at UCI. It is all thanks to Spyro and Insomniac that I am where I am today.

My favorite video game memory would have to be the original Halo. Combat Evolved was the first shooter I played, as my family frowned upon violence I had to go to my friends house to play it. I remember that he was up to the mission where you first crash land on the planet and get out of the Pelican. He handed the controller to me and said "Go on, have a go". I walked out of the dark, crashed Pelican and into a bright world full of scenic beauty, with a huge "Ring" going through the sky. It was like something out of a dream.

The next thing I know a huge alien dropship appears in the sky and as it began to turn towards me I ran and hid behind a rock (my first shooter, I had no idea what I was doing!). I watched as all kinds of Covenant jumped out of the dropship and wandered around the area. Aliens! I'd never played a game like this.

I ran around stealthily and took out a Grunt with melee, the next thing I know I find a Needler in my hands. It was my first time playing a shooter, let alone running around with some crazy alien technology that TRACED enemies and BLEW UP INTO A MIST OF DEATH! It was insane! I ran around as enemies dodged and all I had to do was aim that Needler slightly at them and watched as they fell, one by one.

Proud of myself, I finished off the last enemy. I turned to my friend and rejoiced... That was when I heard WHOOSH and the sound of an explosion. Turning to my right I saw a Banshee. It was flying towards me shooting, I watched in horror as my shield dropped.

Keeping my reticle on it I slowly moved backwards and fired into it. It was getting damaged, smoke started billowing out of it....

...That was when I fell off the cliff like an idiot.

So that is my favorite memory of a video game! It was the beginning of a long-running love and addiction to the genre (and Halo series) and every time someone asks me what my favorite game was I would say Halo Combat Evolved!

Good luck to everyone else! I love FireFall and have been following it since it was announced, I live in Australia and I was so upset when I couldn't make it to PAX to check out the booth. I heard there was actually a Thumper that made sound effects, wish I could have seen it :/

Just in case I win my Twitter profile is: https://twitter.com/MartensTroy. I really hope I do, I love that poster!
