Urban Trials Freestyle is the PS3's version of Trials HD which is on the 360. The game features a whole bunch of sweet flips, kicks, and yes, deaths.

Presentation and Gameplay:
Urban Trials Freestyle certainly doesn't try to hold back the fact that is a total copy of Trials HD, but that does not mean it is bad. The games visuals are nice but nothing to remember. Urban Trials has a nice background setting though, you'll see cars crashing, heads bashing and planes on fire as you hit the usual jumps and obstacles. Like I said before, the game is pretty similar to that of it's competitor so if you played Trials HD, you should be able to play this no problem. The gameplay is easy and you'll master the controls within a couple of levels. Using the left analog stick, you tilt it left to pull back and push forward to lean forward, very simple. You shouldn't notice a problem with the mechanics and you'll rarely or even never see any glitching. The only problem, which is pretty big, is that the level diversity is terrible. You'll notice that almost every other level is the same as the previous, just not set as a speed run. Instead it'll be the same map but you'll be playing against someone else's time.

Story:
A game like Urban Trials doesn't offer much in the way of a story but there are some challenge-like missions. You are able to run through different missions like speed runs. The level selection is easy and Urban Trials offers a nice customization feature to those who play the game for more than a couple of levels. Scattered throughout the levels are dollar bundles, as you ride along you try and nab those bundles. When you do, you receive money which is then put into your bank. Once done with a level, you can spend the money on outfits for your character or for bike parts. After every level, the game will reward you with stars too. Every map has the possibility of receiving five stars, its up to you to do well and earn as many as possible. The game has five cities, within the five cities are your levels. In order for you to move on to the next level (and city), you need to get a certain amount of stars total. This is easy at first but as the level difficulty increases, so does the difficulty to earn stars.
Final Thoughts:
Urban Trials Freestyle isn't your Picasso of games but it certainly isn't terrible. The games nice mechanics and cool visuals mix well with the customization options. Urban Trials Freestyle for some may be better than Trials HD but with the lack of level diversity, Urban Trials Freestyle feels like it wasn't finished.
