S&S News: CEO of EA Resigns

After six years of being EA's Chief Executive Officer, John Riccitiello has announced his resignation.
John Riccitiello is set to resign completely from EA on March 30th of this year. He will also no longer be a member of EA's board of directors.

Set to fill his role is EA Executive Larry Probst while the company is still searching for a permanent replacement. Probst was CEO of EA from 1991 to 2007. 

For his goodbye, temporary CEO Probst said, “We thank John for his contributions to EA since he was appointed CEO in 2007, especially the passion, dedication and energy brought to the Company every single day."

In his goodbye statement, Riccitiello said, “I am proud of what we have accomplished together, and after six years I feel it is the right time for me to pass the time and let new leadership take the Company into its next phase of innovation and growth.”

The reason for his resignation was because of a matter of being accountable to shareholders.
