S&S News: Bethesda: Fallout 4 is In The Works
Great news if you're a Fallout fan, Bethesda has given confirmation that the game is currently in development.
Over at IGN they posted a blog post with the title of “Can Bethesda Make Fallout 4 the Best Game of the Next Generation?” Fans of course have plenty of confidence that they can, but they picked up on something else that was in the article. The sentence said:
“First things first, I know that Fallout 4 is currently in active development at Bethesda.”
We have also heard news from a level designer who worked on Fallout 2 and Fallout: New Vegas. He talked about locations for the game. He said:
“We actually were kicking around some ideas after New Vegas for cool locations for the next Fallout. One of our designers Nathanial Chapman mentioned it’d be really cool to do a Fallout New Orleans. Have an entire city that had like a dam structure and lots of factions and tensions fighting in that city. And then our lead programmer on New Vegas, Frank Kowalkowski, he really wanted to do a Fallout that is set in San Francisco,” Avellone said. “In terms of stuff on the East Coast, there was this really brief mention of this region called the Erie Stretch in the Fallout 3 DLC [The Pit]. And I am really curious to see if they’ll bring that region back in future Fallout installments because it seemed like a really intriguing location to explore.”

Great news. I've been waiting for a new Fallout title. I wasn't really a fan of New Vegas. It wasn't as awesome as Fallout 3.
ReplyDeleteAnd you know it has to come to next gen systems.
ReplyDeleteYeah, that's I was thinking. It will probably be released for the PS4 within the next couple of years.
ReplyDeleteDoes not mean it is confirmed at all.
ReplyDeleteIt just means a gamer journalist, who apparently is close to Bethesda, says the game is in development. Bethesda never officially confirmed the development of Fallout 4, so saying « Bethesda has given confirmation that the game is currently in development.» is completely wrong.
Don't get me wrong, I'm sure the work began long time ago, already (and I'm very excited about it). But Bethesda never say anything official.
BTW, in the comments at IGN, the journalist says he's « 99% sure », but can't say it officially.
I agree with Clement, if the news does not come from Bethesda then this are only pure rumors again which has been running wild for Fallout 4 fans over the past few months , but I think with all the signs and tips online teasing us, it's possible that they are working on FO4, but no one knows when will this be revealed. I know the expectations are high for this sequel with the success of Elder Scrolls and Fallout series, I think Bethesda deserved to be quite at the moment to focus on giving us the best gameplay experience.
