S&S News: Patrice Desilets Fired From Ubisoft

Another one bites the dust as Ubisoft announces they've fired another one of their top employees.

Today, the talented Patrice Desilets announced that he had been fired (yesterday) from Ubisoft. The weird and complicated situation was reported earlier today by Kotaku, stating that Patrice had left the company. As soon as the article was up, Ubisoft issued this statement, "Since the acquisition, the good faith discussions between Patrice and Ubisoft aimed at aligning Patrice’s and the studio’s visions have been inconclusive,” reads part of the statement. “As a result, Patrice has left the studio. Our priorities remain with the teams already hard at work on projects in development. They are at the root of Ubisoft MontrĂ©al’s past and future successes."

Patrice retaliated, with this post on Twitter, "Contrary to reports, I didn’t leave. Ubisoft fired me, and I intend to fight them vigorously for my rights, my team and my game."

Patrice had left Ubisoft in 2010 and was re-hired after the THQ sellout in which Ubisoft bought THQ Montreal. While at Ubisoft, Patrice was known for his roll in the making of the first Assassin's Creed game.
