A relaxing puzzler with a pleasant art style and soothing soundtrack.
GAMEPLAY:
The gameplay of Dédale is very simple yet addicting. You control a butterfly working its way through many challenging, and often times infuriating puzzles, painting the world and making music. Each puzzle is a patchwork of differently shaped tiles interlaced between each other. In the beginning of each level you choose which tile you want the butterfly to start and you have to navigate the map in order to cover every tile without doubling back on any.
CONTROLS:
The controls to Dédale demonstrates extreme simplicity in a game. You touch the tile you want the butterfly to start on and drag your finger where to direct it through the puzzle. That's it. But it works so well.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
Overall, Dédale is a unique game that seamlessly melds relaxation and challenges. I absolutely loved my time with the game but sometimes found my experience hindered by the level of difficulty, often times leaving me frustrated. Also the price point of the game for Mac/PC ($2.99) seems a little steep, but if you're looking for a good puzzler with frustrating challenges than Dédale is a game for you!
S&S Rating: 8.5/10
Just wanted to clarify: $2.99 is the price for Mac/Windows version of the game, iOS version is your usual buck. Cheers for the review!
