State of Decay Lifeline DLC will be released for the 360 May 30 at $6.99

Undead Labs has announced the release date for Lifeline, the latest set of downloadable content for survival simulation State of Decay. On May 30 players will be able to download the expansion for $6.99 on Xbox 360.

The DLC will follow a platoon of male and female soldiers, a unit called Greyhound One. Players will have to keep them alive while attempting to maintain order in the overrun city. The expansion offers players a new story, new weapons and game features, as well as an entirely new map. The city of Danforth covers some four square kilometers.

"If all goes well," Undead labs wrote on its blog, "this may be the first time in gaming history that a game was released BEFORE the official public target. It’s a long story, best told over copious quantities of frosty beverages, but the short version is that both the Undead Labs team and the crew at Microsoft has been burning the midnight oil to make this happen before State of Decay celebrates its first birthday."
