S&S News: Rainbow 6: Patriots still in development, says Ubisoft

Fresh news from gamescom tells us that Rainbow 6: Patriots is still very much in the pipeline, according to Ubisoft.

Talking to IGN, executive director Alain Corre said the project is “still cooking.” “It’s an important franchise for Ubisoft. We want to make sure, on this one, like all the other games we’re working on, that we bring it when we feel it’s perfect.”

When asked if the game will have the same premise as when it was originally developed, Corre was non-committal. “What we want is to have a compelling story. We want people who play the next Rainbow 6 to be astonished, to be very pleased with what they see.”

He goes on to say that Ubisoft wants to make “something worth waiting for,” and that it’ll only be finalised when they’re completely happy with it.

The game was originally announced back in 2011 for the PS3, PC, and Xbox 360, but now we may a see a generation leap.  This definitely wouldn't be the first game to start in the current gen, and end up in the next.
