S&S News: Inside Saints Row IV at PAX East 2013

As I sat through the demo of Saints Row IV, I realized that even after the THQ sellout, Volition and Deep Silver still haven't lost their touch. Saints Row is back!
     It started off with Deep Silver lining us up and having us wait. Boy it was worth it though. We were greeted by Ryan Clements and told to sit down and grab a headset. What came next was totally unexpected, something that really blew all of our minds.

   
     You are the president (which was supposed to be Stephen Colbert) and presidents get to roam free, create chaos on a whole new level in Saints Row IV. Especially with the new arsenal that we got to see in a demo. Take the Dubstep Gun for instance. Pointing it and shooting enemies will make them bounce around in slow-motion. You can roam around in an all new mech suit or use the President's superpowers. The president doesn't just have weapons, you're able to use his super strength to pound enemies, use his super speed to get around faster, freeze enemies and smash them to bits, use telekinesis to pick up cars and throw them at people, or combine all of your powers to create one bad*$# president. Deep Silver also showed off the new enemy of the Saints, the Zyn alien race. The Zyn are trying to move in and as president, you must battle to stop them from taking over.
     Saints Row IV certainly looks like it will boast the usual wacky comedy while mixing in a great story. Save your money because Saints Row IV will hit the shelves on August 20th in the U.S. and August 23rd everywhere else.
